Slithering secrets, gang. I decided to spend my Saturday getting all caught up on the goings on of this “not quite” a Cafe and Diner... and what in Satan’s Spit has my Nancy been up to? Some “ambassador” work, huh? To me, it seems like what really happened was she made some sort of backroom deal with the Secret, and the new Shakas—Amber and Alex—decided to call her up to finish out her agreed-upon term of service. All without my knowledge, it would seem. Making deals with ancient eldritch entities behind my back? What a woman, eh?
I can’t exactly say I’m surprised. I knew what I got into when I married her, after all. That, and I suppose she was rather close with the old Shaka. If anything, I can appreciate her keeping things fresh after 260 years! Still—it does make my mind wander over what exactly Secret promised her and why she felt she couldn’t let me in on it, too. I mean, this is the woman who sold both of our souls over to Satan as a honeymoon surprise. If she’s getting something neat out of this little deal of hers, I might be a bit sore I was left out on it.
Well, while Nance might be beholden to secrets and the such now, the fact of the matter is Langleys don’t keep secrets. At least not from one another. So! This revelation calls for a family meeting. Admittedly, it’s a bit harder since my princess went and became a queen, but I’m 99.5% sure she can carve out some time for her papa. Same goes for Nick, he might be a busy Astorian cog now, but even elite supernatural agents need to attend to family business. And… well… Nancy. I hope she’ll come too, despite whatever hellish and occultic irons she has in the fires.
