You know, it just dawned on me that the House comes up an awful lot, and there might be some employees and patrons not familiar with it. The House is actually the only reason I'm back with the Cafe and Diner. When No. 1 & No. 2 were putting together this new team post-Haunting, my name was floated explicitly because I am the current Master of the House for this cycle. And, obviously, the House has been a great asset to us so far. It's also probably why I'm part of this branch and not Long Island's location.

So what is the House? Well, it has a million names from a million different uses. Officially it is known as the House on Dracula Drive. However, that is a mouthful, and the House is easier to type. Sometimes it's called the House of Hamilton, and sometimes, it's called the House of Solomon. Fun fact, the reason it's sometimes called the House of Solomon isn't from when Al Crow took control of it. It's because it's one of Solomon's artifacts like the Seal of Solomon or the Scepter of Solomon. If I had to guess, Crow named his cult after the House, seeing as his first major plot was to take control of it back. Yes, back. When Al Crow was a human, he also had control of the House, having stolen it from my grandfather, Giovanni Hamilton. The House has actually been in the Hamilton bloodline for generations, per the West Virginian Concord. (Minus the few decades where Crow had it, obviously.)

Oh yeah, the Concord. I don't have time to get into the nitty-gritty of it all here, but the cliff notes are that it's an agreement between the Master of the House, the Eishethic Demons of the Otherside, and some other esoteric parties. In exchange for the House and some other assorted details, Eishethic Demons are free to use the back end of the interdimensional road known as "Dracula Drive" to come and go between the Flipside and the Otherside. It's part of what makes West Virginia such a hotbed of paranormal activity. I mean, that's the gist of it anyway. And, yes, as Master of the House, I'm pretty complacent in this exchange, but think of it this way: Demons are going to get into the Flipside one way or another, so it might as well be on our terms, right?
