DINER RECEIPT
RECEIPT NUMBER: SHS05
RECEIPT DATE: 11 1 1988
MANAGER TITLE: MON AMOUR
RECEIPT NOTES:
Well, that went “beautifully.” Exactly as planned, with just enough chaos to keep things interesting. Honestly, I’m just relieved my older sister took most of the heat. I think, overall, they don’t suspect how much I really know—certainly not more than Sara, at least. I’m sure Levi and Asmi have been hounding her with questions since the summit. Assuming they can even get in touch with her, that is.
Anyway, I thought I’d go over what we talked about last night now that I’ve had a chance to clear my head. My older brother was, as expected, all bark and no bite. He’s still hung up on our dad and his situation—always has been. Honestly, I doubt he cares about anything else, except maybe the fact that he almost got free again.
Asmi was her usual self: impatient, bored, and laser-focused on how all of this might add to her workload. My oldest brother? Largely uninterested, as usual. And then… there’s Manemo. Of course, he tried to play dumb, acting like he had no clue what was going on. Sad to say, I think his feigned ignorance actually worked on the others.
In the end though, I did my “princely” duty. I let everyone know what’s happening, and Sara handled the rest. No one can say I didn’t pull my weight. That said… there’s one thing I want to follow up on. Nothing major. And if it does turn out to be major, don’t worry—I’ll make sure to write up a receipt on it. I know how much you like being at the cutting edge, mon amour.
Though, between us, I think this latest rumor is probably just some deflection or, well, dejection from Sara. You know how she is. Well… I suppose you really do know how she is, don’t you? You must’ve spent a lot of time together.
