I know I’ve already said this, we’ve all already said this, but this was not your fault, Barista. None of us were expecting Aka to show up. If we had known, Payroll would have stayed at the Cafe. And, like you said, we should try and look on the bright side. We did defeat the Unseen and Unheard. And based on how Drosselmeyer reacted, I don’t think he’d bring them back again, knowing we can handle them. We also know that whatever Drosselmeyer enchants is linked to him. From what Drosselmeyer said, it seems like his next enchantment will be this “Nutcracker” weapon he was working on with Daedalus.

Also, we should have told you sooner, but we expected the Mechanism pieces to be taken. We wanted them to be taken. Due to the psychic link I’ve established with them, we can now find Umbra’s Dim Den—assuming that’s where Aka and Drosselmeyer take them. And if they don’t take them back to the Dim Den, we can still find where they are and presumably all of Daedalus’ stolen blueprints. Things aren’t as grim as they might have seemed. I’m sorry we didn’t fully let you into the plan. We needed to keep that part a secret not from you but from the Society. I hope you understand. Your plan was great.

Though… Aka was an unfortunate surprise. Payroll will be fine; she just needs a few days to rest. This isn’t the first time Aka has blinded her, and it probably won’t be the last. At least until we can figure out a way to protect her from his curse. Once Payroll’s feeling up to it, I’d love for you and her to help me link to the Mechanism pieces so we can put an end to this crazed toymaker once and for all and get the Mechanism back from the Dark.
