There was a knock on my grandma's door tonight. When opened it I was greeted by a very strange grinning man. He didn’t look fully human, but I couldn’t place why he didn’t. I knew I’ve seen someone lurking around these past few nights. Luckily I had my CaDCom nearby and ready just in case. It picked up our conversation, but it didn’t pick up that he spoke through his grin and in sort of robotic voice. Or maybe it sounded more like a tape recorder? There’s no question about it. I think I just met the real Mr. Cold.

S.O.T. Indrid Cold: Hello. My name is Indrid Cold. Do not be afraid. 323: Uh, hello. It's a bit late, isn't it? Perhaps you could come back in the morning? Indrid Cold: Have you seen the Mothman? 323: Ah, okay. So, you're looking for the Mothman. And you're really Indrid Cold? And not some sort of local prank? Indrid Cold: Have you seen Daniel Hamilton? 323: Uh, yes. That's me. So... I'm guessing you're really him then. Indrid Cold: You are Daniel Hamilton? 323: Yes. Indrid Cold: Hello. My name is Indrid Cold. Do not be afraid. I have been looking for you. You need to get out of here. 323: Why? What's wrong? Indrid Cold: Your chance to escape is coming soon. It might be too late. You might not make it out of here. 323: Why not? Indrid Cold: She had the chance to escape.

So. Yeah. Mr. Cold himself. The legendary Mr. Cold who was scrubbed from all prior CaD reports. I'm not sure what to do with this... information. For now, I'm just going to put it in the AND channel in case it's important. Maybe I'll show it the Triple Threat. Maybe show it to the number after 7. Maybe I'll just keep it hidden for now. He knew who I was, but why? Why was he looking for me? Why do I have to escape? From what? I am so tired of getting nothing but riddles from these Hotbed customers.

He also handed me some kind of floppy disk. I'm not sure what I'll find on that, and right now, I'm not sure I want to find out. Maybe once I'm back home I'll feel a little less paranoid. Also, I'm not sure how I'm going to… read a floppy disk. I'm sure 62 has a computer that's old enough, but… I don't know. I feel if I told him I needed to see what's on a floppy disk, he'd be curious. Plus, knowing how things like this usually go, it's probably encrypted. So. I don't know.

At least I can heed his warning and get out of here. Something very strange is happening in the Hotbed. Or, has been happening. I wonder if my mom was still around if she'd know about this. About all this... strangeness. She always said she left to protect me, and now I have Indrid Cold telling me to leave here too. Why? What’s on this floppy disk and why give it to me?
