Hoo-wee, who's idea was it to fight Friday head-on again? More importantly, who was stupid enough to volunteer to help? And if that doesn't tell you where my priorities lie, I don't know what will. Anyway, I tell you what, Friday might be a lot less beastly than he used to be, but that boy still puts up a fight an' a half. Me an' 2213 have been warping 'round the Cafe like pinballs all dang day. Right now, we're sittin' a spell in the breakroom while 2213 recharges with a bit of the yellow stuff. Not the funky yellow stuff, the usual burn-out yellow stuff. Tar-something-or-other. You know, the gum.
I can only assume that Friday is right worn-out too. He hasn't done his creepy laugh in at least 10 minutes, I reckon. We've got another two hours to go, but at least we've been keeping him busy and out of the tourists' homes. Not that I reckon Friday even has any business with tourists these days. Crow is double dead, and Satan ain't gonna check up on him or nothin'. He can dedicate his full-time hatred to just the Cafe. Lucky us.
And, yes, he's still right peeved that we pilfered one of his eyes. Why? I don't know. He hasn't said. Just a lot of sing-songy nonsense, what have you. If'n I have to hear, "It's Friday, It's Friday, we all go out to play," one more time, I'm gonna lose it. It is gonna be stuck in my head 'til the next Friday the 13th. That's a scarier thought than Friday himself. However, he has put a bit of spin on his usual rhyme, as far as I can tell anyhow. I've heard him sing a bit of a different second verse, "I'll cut and chop and drain your blood to paint the walls. I'll paint with fear and fire, burn your bones and burn the halls. Run, run, something, something..." I wasn't paying a whole lotta attention seein' as I was shootin' at him. That's my favorite thing about Boogiemen. They like to act all tough until you pump 'em full of lead. They ain't never expecting anyone to bring a gun to a scythe fight. 'Specially not a future gun built specifically for demon killing, what have you.
