I did not agree to play Shadow Story, nor do I think it is the best use of our time. Of course, what Barista and the New Guy want to do in their free time is up to them. But I don’t believe the entire Cafe needs to play this game to understand Gemini. While there has been strong evidence to suggest Gemini is one and the same as this “Unseen and Unheard” from Shadow Story, we do not yet know its origin or if there is a connection. It is entirely possible that “Kal-B-Cash” encountered the Unseen and Unheard in real life and would go on to use them as inspiration.
We need to look at this logically. It’s like Payroll said, do we really think Umbra has played Shadow Story? I get that the name might have lured him in, but Umbra has never struck me as the Tabletop Roleplaying Game type. Same with Aka and Pleasant. Florida enjoyed games but more in a creepy nursery rhyme way. If, and only if, Gemini is somehow a fictional monster brought to life, I would assume it is the work of the Dark’s Society traitor. Tabletop Roleplaying Games are, I suppose, close enough to books. However, the Society has never had the power to bring fiction to life. So, unless we are missing something, I believe Occam’s Razor is most appropriate in this situation. Cash saw the Unseen and Unheard and used it for their game.
Considering Cash survived their encounter with the Unseen and Unheard, they did not encounter Gemini for long. Thus, the game version of Unseen and Unheard should be considered separate from the very real and very threatening creatures, Gemini. Still, I’m willing to get a Blood reading to confirm. Our prior Barista might still have some Blood residue on him. I’ll be in touch with the west coast Cafe to see if they can test him for any stray Blood signatures.
