Crap, crap, crap, crap, CRAP! I don’t know why I thought this would work for one stupid second. The Third Cafe, or you know the Broadway Cafe, whatever you want to call it, just got infiltrated by Umbra. This was such a bad plan. We basically just handed him the Grimoire. They don’t know how to deal with Umbra. Hell, we barely know how to deal with Umbra. And, of course, Umbra wasn’t alone. He never is. I haven’t got the full story yet. For whatever reason, their 8 lost contact with me a few minutes ago. But before she stopped responding, she mentioned that Umbra was working with a Bravo Agent going by the name “Duplicity.” and a girl Umbra was calling Anatasia. So I guess they must be Umbra’s latest additions to the Dark. Worse yet, one of them works for Astoria 23. At least, maybe.
It could be a disguise? I mean, their 8 did say his name was Duplicity. Hard to take that at face value. He might have some sort of shapeshifting power. Plus, I’d say it’s pretty unlikely for an agent of A23 to buddy up with the Dark, let alone a Bravo agent… But… It does put into perspective why Astrid wanted the book so badly. However, I can’t decide if it was to keep the Grimoire away from this Bravo Agent or to hand it to him. No. Now’s not the time for conspiracy theories, and they have never been my thing anyway. I’ll reach out to my brother and see if he knows anything concrete about a duplicitous A23 agent. Right now, we need to figure out what we can do to help the Third Cafe. More importantly, we need to keep the package away from Umbra, Duplicity, and “Anatasia.”
I’ll try and get in contact with anyone from the Third Cafe ASAP. I’m pretty sure their CaDComs have been down since I lost contact with their 8, but I could also try to reach out through a regular line of communication. I’m sure H.R. has one of their phone numbers. I would also have Big Guy turn around to go help them, but if things get particularly Dark, Seth, or uh, 2213 should bring the package either to us or to another safe location. So there isn’t really any point in having him turn around now. Besides, we need Big Guy here in case Aka or Pleasant try to swoop in. Next time, we need to hold onto the valuables.
