Ah, they still move like shadows with delusions of grandeur, don’t they? The Astoria 23rd Agency. Bureaucracy draped in trench coats, held together by shiny lapel pins. At least it makes identifying them easier—for the trained eye, anyway. Mon nouvel ami and I stumbled across what looked to be six Indias and one Golf. Seems they beat us to Mrs. Berkeley’s service. Damn. Still, they weren’t expecting us, eh?

Ah, they still move like shadows with delusions of grandeur, don’t they? The Astoria 23rd Agency. Bureaucracy draped in trench coats, held together by shiny lapel pins. At least it makes identifying them easier—for the trained eye, anyway. Mon nouvel ami and I stumbled across what looked to be six Indias and one Golf. Seems they beat us to Mrs. Berkeley’s service. Damn. Still, they weren’t expecting us, eh?

We kept our distance, far enough to watch the butchers at work. Don’t get me wrong—I have very little sympathy for that unsettling Nameless Thing which haunts the Crags of Paramnesia. But they are butchers, all the same.

We stayed near a crumbling wall by a rusted fright elevator. From there, we could see the poor Indias struggling against the Nameless Thing. A horrid ancient demon. Perhaps even more ancient than the blooded demons, though I’ve no evidence to back that claim. Its venomous mind-poison works fast, eroding memories until its victims are left as little more than… well, nameless things, no?

The tall one, the Golf with the lapel pin, looked straight at us—I swear it. Mon nouvel ami insists I’m imagining things, but tell me, which of us worked for the Agency, eh? They don’t like unexpected company. Especially not ours. I can’t say for sure if the Agency itself is aware of our operations yet, though I know two Divisions must be. Alfa. And Zulu. Neither are pleasant to deal with. Having served under Shaka for quite some time, I’d certainly prefer Astrid over him any day.

If that Golf Agent did indeed see us, I suspect it won’t be long until the Astorians ring the Cafe’s bell in person.
