Alright, I finally heard back from my sister, Sara. Our family meeting is set for Samhain—midnight on November first. It’s a date that works for everyone, as we can all get to the States easily. Not that my siblings usually struggle to travel here. They’re just lazy. Or… okay, lazy <em>or</em> busy trying to keep things running smoothly back in Ottawa. Alright, I finally heard back from my sister, Sara. Our family meeting is set for Samhain—midnight on November first. It’s a date that works for everyone, as we can all get to the States easily. Not that my siblings usually struggle to travel here. They’re just lazy. Or… okay, lazy or busy trying to keep things running smoothly back in Ottawa. Lucky for me, my region mostly takes care of itself—one of the perks of getting the “better” cut of things.
As for where we’ll actually be meeting—well, it’s not in the States. We’re headed to Paris, to the Devil’s Parlor, a hidden chamber deep in the catacombs. I suppose it’s a more neutral location than dragging everyone out to L.A. And honestly, I’d rather not bring my siblings here anyway. Probably best if most of them don’t know too much about my work in the city… except for Manemo and Sara. There’s nothing I can do about those two already knowing. Plus, we always meet in the Devil’s Parlor. It wouldn’t be fair—or safe—to pick a spot in any of our own regions in Ottawa.
Now—I can’t promise this meeting will go the way you want, mon amour. I can’t control what Sara or Manemo might say or do. Sara, I think, is safe. From what you’ve told me, she’s more on your side than my brother’s. And, knowing her, I’d be surprised if she says more than the bare minimum. But Manemo… he’s a wild card. I don’t think he’ll bring anything up, since that would cost him some leverage over you—over us—but he also doesn’t know I’m aware of… well, everything. And I’d like to keep it that way.
