Good to see nouvel ami finally come around to my way of thinking. Though I didn’t quite think we’d hire some unknown hippie off the street. Which, is where my hesitation is at with this “Mr. Octo.” I’ve been around for quite some time, longer than nouvel ami, that’s for sure. Longer than la dame? Well, no. Not exactly. But not many have been around as long as she. Still, considering the circles I ran in before this new venture, you would think I would know something of this Octo. Especially if what nouvel ami told me he knows is true. He knows things about the bigger picture, things not even most of my old coworkers knew. Maybe Alpha. Maybe Shaka. But the list runs dry with others who claim to know what Octo knows.

If it was anyone else, Sahir Bali, Marcus Douglas, or perhaps Madeline Saturn. I would be fully on board. And, nouvel ami, I assume you are reading this; once again, might I suggest those three to start our Cafe operations with? Few are better connected than Sahir Bali, an extraordinary talent for his age. I needn’t tell you of Mr. Douglas’ work. And from what I’ve heard, Madeline Saturn has some rather unique skills that would greatly help our operations. But, of course, only suggestions. If we take on this, Mr. Octo at his word, I fully expect us to hire some other new baristas soon. It would only be fair. And it would take quite the load off of yourself and la dame.

However, in this matter, I will defer my vote to la dame. Considering I know nothing of this “Octo” character, I can’t give my seal of approval. Summary of Receipt

Trusted Associate was apparently once part of Astoria. He doesn’t trust Mr. Octo since he revealed some INCREDIBLY secret information, and suggests instead Sahir Bali, Marcus Douglass, or Madeline Saturn. He’s also been dealing with monsters, demons, and so on longer than Baltimore, apparently. Though the time travel does make things weird.

RECEIPT NOTES:

Good to see nouvel ami finally coming around to my way of thinking. Though I didn’t quite expect we’d be hiring some unknown hippie off the street. That’s where my hesitation lies with this "Mr. Octo." I’ve been around for a long time—longer than nouvel ami, that’s certain. Longer than la dame? No, not quite. But few have been around as long as she has. Still, considering the circles I ran in before this new venture, you’d think I’d have heard something about this Octo. Especially if what nouvel ami claims he knows is true. He seems to know things about the bigger picture, things even most of my old coworkers were in the dark about. Maybe Alfa or Shaka knew. But that’s where the list of people in the know runs dry.

If it were anyone else—Marcus Douglas, or perhaps Madeline Saturn—I’d be fully on board. And nouvel ami, I assume you’re reading this: I don’t need to remind you of Mr. Douglas’ skills. And from what I’ve heard, Madeline Saturn has some rather unique abilities that would greatly benefit us. Just suggestions, of course. But if we take Mr. Octo at his word, I fully expect we’ll be hiring more baristas soon. It’s only fair—and it would take quite the load off you and la dame.

As for this matter, I’ll defer my vote to la dame. Since I know nothing about this "Octo" character, I can’t give my seal of approval. But if you can get la dame to agree, nouvel ami, then it seems fated that Mr. Octo will join our team. Still, we'll meet with Madeline this month and Marcus the next. It may be worth reaching out to our little "Secret" as well. To see if he knows anything about this Mr. Octo. If anyone around here were to know something, it’d be Secret. He’s truly a man of marvels, nouvel ami. Glad you came around to see it.
