CAFE AND DINER RECEIPT FROM 9/02/17
MANAGER 323
RECEIPT: BEARINGGIFTS02
STATUS: OPEN
Well, as expected, Mr. Hyer showed up right after Pleasant took off towards the west. 17 is still recovering from her home-fries, so I ended up being the only one to talk with Mr. Hyer. Considering how confusing his speech can be, I did have the CaDCom transcribe it.
S.O.T.
Mr. Hyer: How odd. The sun has set, but the beasts remain awake.
323: Yeah, I’ve noticed. There’s a lot of friends around these parts.
Mr. Hyer: Even if the sun sets, the beasts can’t sleep.
323: Why not?
Mr. Hyer: Long time, no see.
323: It’s only been a few days. Unless, of course, you’re a different Mr. Hyer than the ones I’ve already spoken to?
Mr. Hyer: Perhaps. It can be hard to keep track of time.
323: Well, Pleasant just came from the Hotbed Airport and is heading west. You said you had a gift that could stop her?
Mr. Hyer: Unrelated. She can not be stopped by you.
323: Well, we have to try.
Mr. Hyer: She will be stopped. Not by you. You need to worry about the weekend.
323: Right now? This weekend?
Mr. Hyer: Hardly. A weekend yet to come.
323: And I’m guessing you can’t just give us a straightforward date?
Mr. Hyer: And what would that help?
323: We, humans, usually go off of a linear set of dates.
Mr. Hyer: More like a cycle.
323: Okay. I see that is not something I’m going to be getting through to you anytime soon. So what is your gift?
Mr. Hyer: Ice Machine.
323: Ice Machine?
Mr. Hyer: Looks like an ice machine.
323: That does not look like an ice machine.
Mr. Hyer: To me, it does.
323: Okay. Well, does it make ice?
Mr. Hyer: Only on Fridays.
323: Great. Well, thank you, uh, I don’t know your name. So I’m just going to call you Mr. Hyer.
Mr. Hyer: No problem, Dan.
323: Wait. So you do remember me?
E.O.T.
And just like that, he was gone again. But we’ve got an... Ice machine? I mean, it doesn’t look like an ice machine to me, but who am I to judge. Mr. Hyer either has an odd sense of humor or is way out of our depth. The bad news is I actually believe him. This probably doesn’t do anything to stop Pleasant. I’m not sure who will stop Pleasant, but I feel like we should still keep an eye on her, right? Especially if she’s heading towards us. Once 17 is feeling better, she’ll head out in the food truck and try to catch up with Pleasant from a safe distance. And I’ll be back in town on the 14th. I wasn’t sure how long we’d be here, so I booked a ticket in advance.
