Summary of Receipt
Alaric, or Theo, an Angel formerly known as Cashier in the Other Cafe, shows up. The Court of Angels isn’t happy that the CaD released Satan, and won’t be satisfied with the excuse of cosmic imbalance. They’re quite worried that Satan will release his father, the Devil, from his imprisonment, so Theo’s snooping around and trying to gather evidence both for and against the CaD.

Right, well, we royally pissed off the higher-ups, choice? Now, before you lot start panicking, this is technically the second time I've been in trouble with the Court... so I have a bit of experience with it. The Court is like your local council, yeah? They bicker and bark but ultimately don't tend to get much done. Of course, if they do decide to pass judgment, well, that's it. Poof. Bloody gone. No recourse, no second chances. Bloody hell, I think they are still deliberating my actions concerning The Dark. It could take them my entire life and then some to come to a consensus. So in that sense, we're safe. We're fine. However, we have entered the "be not afraid" part of the judgment. Which is basically where they send a messenger down to let us know we crossed a line.
On the bright side, the messenger they chose to send is an old pal and former CaD employee. They are going by a different name now, Theo, so that's how I'm going to refer to them here, but they also went by "Quality Control" back in the days. Just so we're all on the same page. Anyway, Theo came into the Palm Beach Cafe this morning to give us a little hell for what "we" did. Technically what Long Beach did, but we're all in this together, choice? So, if you haven't pieced it together yet, the Court isn't happy we released Satan. Now I did try to argue that we were only seeking to restore cosmic balance, but I don't think Theo bought it for one second. Now Theo isn't keen to stick around and help us out like they did last time, which I don't blame them, but they are sticking around for a few weeks while the Court settles other business in relation to our case. What is that business? It's above my head. But maybe they tipped their hand? I'll let you be the judge of that.

No. 6: Welcome to the Cafe and Diner, unfortunately, we're currently clos- Oh! Alaric!
Theo: Hello [No. 6]. Actually, at the present hour, I go by Theo.
No. 6: Oh, of course, how are you, Theo?
Theo:...
No. 5: Nothing but bad news then I take it?
Theo: Be not afraid, [No. 5].
No. 5: Ah, you lot only say that when it's bad news.
Theo: It's not… Well, it's not bad or good, but I have been sent to tell you that the Court is investigating your actions on October 31st, 2021, at 11:59 P.M. Pacific Time Cycle 4,853,384,526.
No. 422: Ahhh, Ttttheo! When did you get here?
Theo: Hello, [No. 422]. Good to see you again, old friend. Staying out of trouble?
No. 422: Better than thessse fools.
Theo: You are, in the eyes of the Court, also at fault.
No. 422: Figuresss.
No. 4: So the Court isn't happy that Satan was released?
Theo: Concerns have been raised that it was not in the best interests of the world.
No. 5: Best interests, bloody hell, if anything, it restored the cosmic balance a bit.
Theo: I have to remain impartial-
No. 422: That means Tttheo agrees.
Theo: ...but… Some Choirs are concerned that Satan will continue his mission to release his Father.
No. 4: He most certainly will. But so would the Cold.
Theo: Yes, but the Cold is out of the Court's jurisdiction. Satan is not.
No. 422: Ah… ttthey got usss on a bureaucratic technicality.
No. 5: Fine. Fine. So what now, then? Deliberation?
Theo: ...Is underway. Though this is a complicated case, and we are still largely in an evidence-gathering phase.
No. 5: So… you're going to snoop around for a bit then, yeah?
Theo: A few days, a week at most. Though I would also very much like to see [No. 224] before I go.
No. 6: Oh, I'm sure he'd love that.
