Right, well, I did promise an update on the whole… "situation," once things calmed down, yeah? Hurlyburly is done, the battle lost and won and all that. Also, seeing as a rather capricious ophidian decided to air out my Deep Dark secrets on the matter, I might as well keep the rest of the Cafe in the loop too. Hard to bloody keep secrets with him around. Though I would expect this to be the last of this receipt, not that I couldn't theorize about the prose of life more but what else is there really to say? I would the friends we miss are safe, though few escape such hellish place.

Funny, innit, a Scottish play to fit a Brit like me. The old owner, he fancied himself Villon, Baudelaire, and Hugo. Can't say it isn't just right for me to enjoy the works of 'ol Will. It's hard to explain it, but since I was dealt this new hand, the words... speak to me. I don't have the full picture, but I certainly see the meaning within the meaning more than I ever did before. And funny enough these words, they lend me strength. Power. Protection. Enough to keep my fingers from pricking, and that's good enough for me.

Well, I must sound right mad. Can't imagine how the old owner must've felt with the force of it. Wish I could explain it better, though there is much I can't quite say here and now. There are some things I can't say at all. But I'll try my best, choice? As you all know, Managers are cut above due to a little thing known as the "Mantle of Eight." We each have a piece of it, some in varying amounts, some not quite the same as others, but it's all 8 at the end of the day. The Mantle provides an esoteric power about us. A layer of protection from forces unknown and unknowable. Some see it as a power, some a safeguard, others a dangerous variable. I can't say I know what it is fully. What its purpose is. But, I know this much, the Wicked, the Cold; it is their weakness. They cannot overcome it, not yet in any case. Though I am sure they are trying, and it's only a matter of time until they find a way around it. The Wicked, Secret, Phantom, and of course the oldest of the old, Fate. Unfortunately, we owe them all a debt in one way or another, and 8 cannot protect us forever, even in our darkest hours.
