My goodness, that was a rather intense brunch. I went to pay the Palm Beach branch a visit regarding No. 4’s new arm, and immediately it tried to strike at me and strangle me. That, or No. 4 is holding quite a grudge against me. I assume it is the former as No. 4 and I, despite our history, are on good terms at the moment. I would not expect him to lash out at me again willingly. No, clearly, there is something more to this, and No. 4’s new demon arm must have some sort of history or vendetta against me, specifically.
Sadly, I couldn’t possibly say who that might be. I have crossed paths with many demons in the course of my life, and many of them wish me dead. Admittedly, many for good reasons. Still, for a demon to have such a death wish for me, even post-amputation, well, that is quite the visceral hatred of me, isn’t it? Before, figuring out the prior owner of No. 4’s arm was a low priority. But now? Well, we should get to the bottom of this before No. 4 inadvertently tries to kill me, or I am forced to amputate him.
Now, No. 512 was able to establish the link between the arm and myself through its blood. So, I suggest we pay a visit to the foremost authority on black blood, Bloody Mary. A simple trip the Vile City should be no problem for No. 4, No. 512, and myself. And we were already considering asking Bloody Mary about Satan’s transubstantiation trick. I assume she would be happy to help us if No. 512 humors her for a bit regarding her cult. And if that doesn’t do the trick, I will admit she owes me a favor. And you don’t want to owe a Langley a favor.
