I’m not saying she somehow tricked you into touching the taglocked portal. I think that was entirely Galao’s own mistake. After you all went missing, the Actuaries and I became a bit too focused on saving you to realize Asmi and her marquis goons had stolen Mr. Nusa. It didn’t take long for me to notice the huge chunk of frozen time, however. We then slipped inside and… well… that’s that. Our CaDComs no longer worked, so we had no way to warn you. Of course, now that you’re all here, our CaDComs are once again synched up, minus Americano’s.

I don’t think Asmi has totally given up on her original plan, encasing all of Long Beach, and probably all of SoCal, into a massive time bubble. We’ve noticed that the club seems to be… growing. It’s certainly expanding, though only a few inches every few ehs. Oh, an “eh” is what I call a sorta-hour because it feels like about an hour. The main hang-up of being in a timeless realm is there’s no time. At least I’m pretty used to it, though it’d take a while for you guys to get a feel for mehs, ehs, and ughs. Hopefully, we won’t be in here long enough for you to feel the difference.</span>

Summary of Receipt

Red Eye explains further. Asmodeus stole Mr. Nusa and used him to freeze a pocket of time. When she, Espresso and Doppio went to investigate, they got stuck in this never-ending dance as well, and - since their CaDComs wouldn’t work - there was no way of warning the CaD what to expect. There’s just one very pressing issue: the bubble’s slowly expanding.

Enough Diner speak. Asmi stole the Clockwork Serpent, way overcharged it with energy, and let it rip a massive nightclub-shaped pocket outside of time and space. The Gossamer Ballast. It seems like this was her plan for quite some time. If I had to guess, she was hoping we wouldn’t notice Mr. Nusa slithering about Long Beach long enough for him to eat his fill of electricity, and then—boom—Long Beach becomes one massive never-ending nightclub. Of course, we stopped that plan almost incidentally. So… she changed course.

Hopefully, we won’t be in here long enough for you to feel the difference.
