RECEIPT FILED AS: C-ITN-07
Well… that isn’t good. My portal is flawless, of course, but it doesn’t seem to work for any of you. I was worried that might be the case. It would seem that if you cross through a taglocked portal, the only way out is through that same portal. Naturally, one would expect to go back to where you started this misadventure, but it’s never that easy, is it? No one knows where Asmodeus has hidden the taglocked portals.
I suppose I should share what the Astorians have uncovered about Asmodeus’ Tags and how they work. You didn’t hear any of this from me, and I assume you’ll do well to keep your lips sealed about this. In essence, the taglocked portals work differently in the Otherside and the Flipside. In the Flipside, as you’ve all seen and experienced, Asmodeus has graffitied the alleyways of Long Beach with sigils that act as portals. Assuming you have the magic to make it work, touch the tag, and you find yourself in the Otherside. But in the Otherside, the way Demons are accessing these portals is through drinks—shots, to be specific.
Somewhere, Asmodeus has hidden the physical link to the portals and is instead using some sort of clever concoction that allows for a demon to be recalled to the exact spot they took the shot. While it certainly helps portray Asmodeus’ image of revelry, it also has done well to keep the actual taglocked portals safe. The Agency has been doing everything it can to wash away or otherwise destroy the portals in Long Beach, but it makes no difference if they don’t destroy the Otherside portals first. Unfortunately for all of you, the shots won’t work. You didn’t take them in the first place. So, you’ll need to find where Mistress has hidden the physical taglocked portals.
Best of luck. If my ill-intended business is quick, I will rejoin you to aid in your search.
