Summary of Receipt
Capgras and Twain receive orders to stop Rune by the end of the month, after which Bravo or Ampersand will be sent in. They have thirteen days to stop Rune, and two possible plans: either replace Rune's soul, or make sure she can't do any more harm. The Shakas split up: Capgras will work with Dover, Pathologist and the others to try to save Rune, while Twain and Kikimora work on figuring out a way to handle her. Without Rune's outright murder, that is.

Time to be Shaka. We got orders this morning from Alfa: Stop Rune. We have until the end of the month before she’ll send in Bravo or Ampersand. Things look bad, yes, but it’s not as dire as Yaksha might have made it seem. The Kings of Roses are still a few weeks away from being able to pull off their grand plan. At the least, Alfa has confirmed we have 10 days. Possibly 15. Probably no more than 20. And she’s given us 13. Not a bad deal, all things considered.
So, either we give Dover’s experimental solution a shot, or we do as Kikimora would do and make sure Rune can’t try this again. I think we should at least try to fix her. If I know anything about Shaka, it’s that he was, by all accounts, a thaumaturge—a miracle worker. And fixing Rune at this point might just take one of those famed Shaka miracles. Of course, from what I also know of the previous Shaka personally, he was never afraid to do some truly terrible things in the pursuit of ensuring everything would work out how he wanted it to.
There are two of us, so let’s split the difference. Capgras is more familiar with the “save Rune” plan, so I’ll let him worry about how to pull that off. In the meantime, I’ll work with Kikimora on a backup “stop Rune” plan. Killing her is off the table, but we have a few ways to functionally stop her, at least for the immediate future. As for the other Kings? I couldn’t care less what happens to them, so I assume they’re fair game. 13 days. We’ve got this. We’ve got to have this.
