TAB PAID FOR WFS CARE OF #71
The shadow entity known as "Umbra" was caught lurking around the Cafe and Diner's physical location, attempting to diffuse our efforts in the COS case. While I was able to capture him in a simple lightless room, he refused to speak more about his or Padre's plans. I let him go before things got unnecessarily dark. I did manage to take a small sample of his sableblood. It should be enough to ward the Cafe from his presence for at least a few months. Can't say more about the process due to my own blood oaths and the Code of Zilence. You all know the drill.

Although our conversation was largely uninteresting, I did confirm Padre's "group" to be that of himself, the Redman, and the Mothman. Umbra is more or less tagging along so Padre can utilize the Redman's skills in exchange for something Umbra has been seeking. While unclear, I believe the implication is that whatever it is that Umbra wants, Padre has it. Mothman is in their group for unknown reasons to Umbra or me. If I had to wager a guess, I'd say it's because he is a child born of Lilith, and he is loyal to Padre. More loyal and more accessible than his regular boogiemen. Again, pure speculation, but perhaps Mothman's presence is to lure out someone more dangerous. Mr. Cold.

I would speak more about that, but it is not the code of Zilence which binds my tongue. It is the Code of the Cafe. The Owner would be rather cross if I dare say more about it. For now, let's just assume that it isn't the case. But, I suppose that concludes our "Whispers from the Shadows" for now. But Umbra's tab is far from paid.
