You called, and I've answered! So, let's talk about our friend "Mrs. Heelfront." Fair warning, Demons aren’t exactly my "thing," so some details might be off.
Mrs. Category, so dangerous or believed to be dangerous at the very least. Heelfront because of their giveaway feet which go heel first, then toes in the back. Baltimore Named: the Douen.
Douen are, at least in Caribbean folklore, thought to be the spirits and/or bodies of unbaptized children who have died. Of course, you have to take that with a grain of colonization salt, as Douen was around before the English were. So what do we really know about these little dudes? Well, they're from the Otherside, most likely Amaymon. It could also be Mayda. Regardless, definitely dead kids, though. The specific conditions that make them into Douen are unclear. So, if they are from Amaymon could be regional, so only children who die around the Caribbean Sea. Now that's an interesting point, sea. Yeah, these 'lil dudes pop up around places surrounded by water. It could be kids who have died at sea, kind of like Red-Eyed Children. It might be pretty closely related. Baptism most likely has nothing to do with how Douen's come about, but still, it might factor in.
So what do Douen's do? Well, they're portrayed in folklore as sometimes pranksters and sometimes child-snatchers. Occasionally a bit of both. Not taking any chances, we have them at a "Mrs." because of their possible child-snatching behaviors. We do know they have the unique ability to mimic the voices they've heard. Some legends say this is how they lure children into forests. Douens are incredibly rare on the Flipside and, from what I understand, are even rare on the Otherside. They live or socialize in small groups no larger than five, and there aren't many groups of them.
As Douens are a pretty uncommon sight, this AAA case Shutter is working on is… interesting. Plus, it's not an alive Douen. It's footage of a dead one. Although I do see why they're trying to say this is footage of an "alien," Douens do look sort of extraterrestrial, especially this far decomposed. My only concern is that the rest of this Douen's group may still be alive and actively trying to recover the body of their fallen buddy. Or get revenge. Hard to say.
