Summary of Receipt
Employee 17 messes around with Satsuki’s sigil and makes a ‘westernised’ version, though it’s very imperfect - it still needs a physical rift/Airport to the Otherside to send the monster back. However, if people like Miss. Bad or Satsuki used their power and created a ‘live sigil’ it would apparently be fine. Lastly, he ponders about how the Otherworlders are from mythology despite only existing for around a year. He suspects it’s ‘abiogenisis’ - the creation of life from nothing.

I’ve managed to deconstruct the sigil given to us by Miss. Satsuki and convert it into a westernized sigil for our usage in the future. This also serves as a good chance for patrons to dip their toes into sigilcraft. I’ve left the westernized sigil active, but don’t go using it unless you’re thirsty for some Amazake. Worst case you use the sigil incorrectly and lock yourself out of sigilmancy for good. Best case you use it correctly and find yourself in a nightmare realm of Yokai. Also, this isn’t as strong as say, an Otherside sigil imbued with the powers of the Princes, you’ll still need to find a physical rift to use this at.
Speaking of, it is unclear if we will ever get sigils that are strongly linked to the Otherworld. In theory, a Prince or Prince-like figure (Miss. Bad or Miss. Satsuki, for example) could use a fraction of their own power to create a “live” sigil. Unless, of course, the Otherworld only exists at fixed points. If that is the case, it is strange that Avalon is cross-bound to the Northwest Cost. Though if the Otherworld is transient, in what way does it move? Perhaps like the Otherside shifts to Flipside phenomena, perhaps the Otherworld shifts to Otherside phenomena? If this is the case, it can be deconstructed all the same.
This doesn’t even touch upon the question of pre-history. While the Otherworld seems to be a new phenomenon entirely, the inhabitants seem to have memories and lives spanning much longer than a mere few months. Not only that, human history knows of them. Or has been influenced by their existence, similar to how the Otherside tends to influence folklore. And this, of course, would indicate that the Otherworld has always existed. But how could that be if we have endless texts and experiences in the Otherside, but just now, we are uncovering the secrets of an Otherworld? I have a theory that perhaps what we are witnessing is a rare case of abiogenesis. And if this is indeed abiogenesis, then, well... I’ll leave that thought elsewhere. There are a few people who would be rather cross if I finished that line of thinking. I will say, whatever the case is, the Otherworld is an interesting and dangerous phenomenon.
