Summary of Receipt
Mr. Robinson turns out to be a Janitor, more official name a Gilzer. Essentially, they’re caretakers of the dead, cleaning up tricky souls that refuse or have found exploits to remain. They’re also older than angels, being an Elder race. The Janitors are affiliated with Asmodeus, since her library has a book called the Chronicles of the Dead, basically a list of the souls supposed to be in the Necropolis. Presumably the Janitors use that to cross-reference. With a Janitor being involved here, Espresso thinks the Poet isn’t actually in the Necropolis, saying too many things don’t add up with the death of 8. Also, interrogating the Janitor will help them gain intel anyway.

RECEIPT FILED AS: CD-JFB-02
Jack sprat, J! Can you believe it? A Janitor! Have you ever heard about the Janitors, J? Well, let me tell you, they are a spooky bunch! They are some sort of Elder race, sort of similar to Angels, though they predate Angels by quite some time. Makes them older than the old. Also, we call ‘em Janitors, but that’s just because their real name has been lost to time. Though, I guess their more official title is the “Gilzers.” But we call ‘em Janitors because, well, they clean up messes.
I think my dearest Doppio mentioned that they are knowledgeable about death, right? Well, they’re the ones who take stubborn souls to the Otherside. Or Flipside. Depending on which way you’re headed. So, what kind of mess requires entities older than Angels to clean up? Serious ones, that’s what! Real affronts to nature and stuff like that. Souls that won’t move on, souls that can’t move on, and souls that have been “gaming the system,” so to speak. As such, the Janitors have a pretty close relationship with the villainous Mistress. She’s probably the only one who actually sees these Janitors on a somewhat frequent basis. See, she’s got a big old library called the Chronicles of the Dead, and if the names in there don’t match up with the residents Necropolis, then there are serious shenanigans afoot.
Now, I think it’s starting to become clear why I want to chew the fat with this fella. I don’t think the Poet is in the Necropolis. Call it a hunch, but there are too many things that just aren’t adding up with the death of 8. Maybe you know, maybe you don’t know. I’m not here to pick at your secrets, but I do want to see what this Janitor knows about the whole affair. Plus, if Mistress is planning something big, I’m sure this guy will know about it. Can’t get much past folks this old.
