We should count ourselves luckier than we already have been. Nine was still out in the Shattered Moor, seemingly exactly where Travis had last seen him. Though, I am beginning to think luck had little to do with it. From what Nine suggested, he was waiting for us to arrive. I suppose he would have been able to know that we would come to this spot at this time, but I can’t help but feel he could have just written us a letter and saved us the trouble of visiting the Hauntaurskald and further deceiving my husband.

Then again, Nine is known for his… theatrics. It wouldn’t do to just write us a simple letter, especially when he already pulled his little book trick for Blackwood earlier. He just had to do the “I was wondering when you’d show up” routine. Typical. All time travelers are the same brand of obnoxious. Especially when they do that flick of a pocket watch and coy, knowing smile. I, for one, prefer to stick to the script instead of always jumping to the end.

As for what Nine was doing out in Pandemonium in the first place, it seems he was collecting some sort of data for the Society. He’s been visiting each plane to gather data, and he just so happened to be in the Hauntaurskald at the same time Travis was passing through to kill his father. I suppose if he’s been going in the usual order, he’s already collected data from the Morningstar and Infernus. Or he could have been working his way from the bottom to the top. Again, he didn’t get into specifics because where would the theatrics be in that? No, he must first come back to the Astorian Seabase with us and present his findings in what I am sure will be a very thrilling PowerPoint presentation.
