Abner Langley came into the Cafe today, and, well, if you’ve read the letter—that’s actually what he’s like. He is just a strange kinda guy. To be honest, and no offense, he reminds me a lot of No. 2 when he gets all up on his valet business. No clue how he actually found the Cafe and Diner, though. It’s not like we go out of our way to advertise where we are. Solomon must’ve told him, though I’m guessing Abner must live in the tri-state area if he got here this fast.

Now for the bad news, Abner doesn’t actually have his stone with him. He hid it somewhere in Garden State long ago for safe keeping. All we have to go on is some cryptic riddles he left for himself, to which he has forgotten the answers. Here’s the central riddle: “Take a leap and look to the stars. There you’ll see II for the first time. Under the cradle of the Archons.” Which is vague at best. Also, I know that we typically deal in riddles and puzzles and stuff, but this… seems a bit more obtuse. At least Abner seems pretty confident it IS in the Garden State. So that narrows it down and is thankfully close by.

Abner also seems… fixated on the stars. I’ve seen him pull out a little notebook multiple times where he is keeping track of astrological movements and abnormalities. He seems wildly convinced that the star Sirius is “crying,” though he won’t elaborate on what that means or if it means anything at all. I suppose he’s some sort of “visionary,” and this must be how he processes the ideas that come to him. I guess he’s not any worse than No. 161 usually is. </span>
