I’ve been conducting some research into the Cafe and Diner customer, Mrs. Aka, per #71’s request. From what I can tell, Mrs. Aka is a much more obscure Canadian personality, especially in contrast to the more well-known Mrs. Pleasant and the prolific Mrs. Umbra. I think the most interesting thing about Mrs. Aka’s involvement in Padre Santos’ church is that Padre wanted her on his staff despite her ties to Mrs. Umbra. As I see it, Mrs. Umbra is a bit of a liability to Padre Santos, as she comes in well past 3 o’clock. Though I suppose Mrs. Pleasant is a bit of a liability as well, seeing as she does not dance for Padre directly.

Perhaps that’s why Padre wanted Aka? To have at least one member of his parish under his direct control. Except that’s not quite the case with Aka. Due to Aka’s terms, she is fully bound to Mrs. Umbra for the time being. So, what makes Aka so… special? Well, I think that #71 was being a bit deceitful when describing her. While she is a hauntingly good interior decorator regarding bathrooms, her signature piece seems to be décor from the Sengoku period. Specifically, I believe that Mrs. Aka has a certain fondness for vases depicting the likeness of Yamana Sōzen.

Though that really only brings more questions than answers, doesn’t it? As far as I can tell, after Aka moved to Canada and took up dancing, her terms have been fairly clear since. Unless there’s something about how her terms work that sets her apart from Padre’s other choir dancers. The longer a Canadian dances, the better their routine becomes, especially if they can perform well under scrutinizing Indigo eyes. And if Aka has been dancing for what feels like over 500 years, maybe that’s the secret as to why Padre wants her?</span>
