Abbey’s ivy seeds were the inspiration, sure, but the execution? That was all us. Seeds alone can’t really patch boundary tears, not when we only had a handful to work with. So, we did what we do best: improvise.<br /> <br /> What if we could engineer a version—or a “strain” of Abbey’s ivy that could not only fill the tears but “stitch” them back up over time? It’d be better than just throwing the seeds in rot-infested soil and hoping for the best. Cherry suggested altering the seeds using her special cocktail formulations. And so… we started working on the Cafe’s latest late-night drink, the “Golden Seam.”<br /> <br /> I won’t bore you all with the specifics, but it’s a drink with gold flakes (from when we dealt with Mina), gin (from Abbey’s berries, specifically), and a shot of Fireball (from Cherry, naturally). The gold flakes are more than just a flourish. Mina’s domain is Greed, and hopefully, we’ve upgraded Abbey’s ivy to be just that—greedy. It’ll feed off of a specific frequency of frayed boundary lines and, in the process, close them and keep growing.<br /> <br /> Now? We just need to try it out. Honestly, the thought of gin with Fireball makes my stomach turn, but—Cherry seems game. I guess she and Hazelnut have a more… “open” palate. Worst case? Things go horribly wrong; we end up poisoning our customers, we piss off the Department or the Coven or both, and then we have a different set of problems to contend with. But honestly? I think even the worst case would work out for us if it finally spurred the Department to do something—&lt;i&gt;&lt;b&gt;anything&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;—about this problem.&lt;/span&gt;</div>
