	No. 5 and I have made our way through the Inner Rings of Crossroads, Script, and Dawn, and along the way, we’ve uncovered the identity of one of Asmodeus’ traitors—Vidame Caassimolar. No. 5 and I have made our way through the Inner Rings of Crossroads, Script, and Dawn, and along the way, we’ve uncovered the identity of one of Asmodeus’ traitors—Vidame Caassimolar. A powerful and ancient Blooded Demon, Caassimolar has been drawn into the Shadow War thanks to his insatiable thirst for bloodshed and murder. Now, he’s taken an unsettling interest in us, following our every move and seemingly trying to recruit us into his scheme of betrayal.

We first encountered the massive, purple-eyed griffin in the Crossroads Ring, right after our conversation with Caligula. That meeting was No. 5’s idea, just to be clear. Caassimolar cornered us, demanding to know why two humans were poking around the Necropolis. We told him the truth, and oddly enough, he seemed satisfied, flying off without further trouble. But he wasn’t done with us yet.

In the Script Ring, while we were speaking with Virgil, Caassimolar reappeared. This time, he dismissed Virgil and tried to strike a deal. He claimed to know the whereabouts of No. 26 and No. 44, and offered to share this information—if we helped him take down Asmodeus.

Naturally, we pointed out that he’s a Vidame of Asmodeus’ own Court. Why would he side with the Shadowfolk of the Everdark? His answer was evasive, suggesting it was something beyond our understanding. Then, he gave us a choice and a poisoned dagger: we could plunge it into an unsuspecting Asmodeus, ending our journey but also unraveling what little stability remains in the Necropolis. Or, we could refuse and leave the Necropolis in one piece—on the condition that we keep Caassimolar’s betrayal secret. Otherwise, he made it clear, we wouldn’t be leaving the Necropolis at all.

What’s strange, though, is that in every encounter, Caassimolar seemed... afraid of No. 5. Could it be his magic? Perhaps. But surely, a Vidame of Asmodeus should be able to handle a Warlock who can’t even fully tap into his powers.</span>
