I caught this "Gift Man" in the act. He was dropping off today's present in the front of the Cafe at approx. 2:00 A.M. We had a bit of an altercation. Nothing too serious, maybe a bruise or two. I'll admit, I was holding back. I did not want the Gift Man to perceive me as a genuine threat. I find that these Elder types greatly underestimate mortal strength. I'm sure he would have been startled if I had actually tried to hurt him. When Elders get startled, they get lethal. Besides, if he has to kill me, that's one less person to receive his gifts, so naturally, he wants me alive and scared. I can give him one of those things.

He's a tall fellow, I'd guess maybe 8-9 feet. Very slender. Barely humanoid. It was dark, so I could be mistaken, but his body was entirely black. He wore a white face mask with a thin smile. He had a bag, presumably full of gifts to give in his hands. I'm not convinced that this is his true form. Again, it was dark, but I could swear his form was shifting as he moved about. Before he noticed me, he was a lot more fluid. He took this somewhat humanoid form only after he knew I was watching.

He didn't say much, though he was surprised I found him. He was upset that I was ruining the surprise. He smacked me, I smacked him, he smacked me hard, I backed down. He did warn me that I wasn't any fun and that I was ruining his gifts by hiding them away. I'm assuming he draws some sort of strength from our opening and using his gifts. I did manage to ask him the most important question: is he with the Dark? No surprises here. He is. Apparently, he was tasked by Umbra to spread cheer while he was away. How considerate of the shadow.</span>
