It was certainly lovely to see my dearest Pumpkin again. I decided to accompany No. 2 and No. 2312, mostly because I haven't seen Nikki in almost two years now. I know how busy she has been ruling the Necropolis, and I didn't want to interfere in her very important work. However, it was a good thing I did accompany them. It would seem there is indeed something strange happening in the Necropolis, and it is something tied to our very family. Below is the transcript of our meeting with Nikki, the current Queen of the Necropolis. While this matter is certainly concerning, she understands that our current priorities are on Miss. Augustine.

S.O.T.

Nikki: Ahhh!! [No. 2]! Thanks for coming. I didn't really know what to make of this, and I thought you might. 
No. 44: Hello, dear. 
Nikki: Mom! What are you doing here? Is dad with you? 
No. 44: Your father is busy in the Hauntaurskald. Otherwise, I'm positive he would've come along too. Though we did bring [No. 2312]. 
Nikki: Why? 
No. 2312: Wow. What a warm welcome from the Queen of Hell. I just wanted to say hi. 
Nikki: Why? 
No. 2312: You know we worked together for like 6 years, right? 
Nikki: I remember. Well. "Hi." Anyway, can you take a look at this 
No. 2312: Wow. That is one large man. You're right, Nikki. This was a great use of our time. I am glad we came to see this. 
No. 2: [No. 2312], be nice. But also, I agree. It's a large man. What's the problem? 
Nikki: He's just been chopping down trees in the Cimmerian Woods for like days. He hasn't stopped in weeks. 
No. 2: Okay… is this… unusual for the Necropolis? 
Nikki: I don't know! That's why I called you! There's a large guy just chopping down trees. I don't know what he wants or if he'll stop. The Cimmerian Woods is like the only thing between the Necropolis and the Everdark Pits. 
No. 2: You know we decided to stay out of the whole Shadow War thing, right? 
Nikki: I'm not asking you to do anything about it. I just wanted to know if you could I.D. this guy. You know is he like a historical figure? 
No. 2: Don't you have a record of every dead person? 
Nikki: Uh, duh. But he's not in any of them. 
No. 2: So he's a Shade or Shadow Person or…? 
Nikki: No, he's some dead guy. Look at him. Does he look particularly umbral to you? 
No. 2: Hm. I guess I could do some research. Though we're pretty busy Flipside. 
Nikki: I mean, he's just going to keep chopping trees probably, so I'm not in a huge rush. 
No. 44: Let me take a look- Oh. 
No. 2: Oh? 
No. 44: Bartholomew? 
Nikki: You know this guy? 
No. 44: That's… your grandfather. 
Nikki: What?! 
No. 44: I'd recognize him anywhere. That's absolutely Bartholomew Langley, your father's, well, father. 
No. 2: What's he doing here? 
No. 44: Well, he did die. I remember his funeral. I suppose the better question is, why isn't he in the Records of the Dead? 
Nikki: And why is Gramps cutting down my trees? I guess we could just go ask him- 
No. 44: No. That's not a good idea. Something has clearly come over him, and the last thing you would want to do is get in his way. They had to shoot his coffin to make sure he was actually dead. 
No. 2: So what are we going to do then? 
No. 44: Mm. Nothing. Not right now. Keep an eye on him, dear. In the meantime, I will bring it up with your father. Though, [No. 2] is correct. We are very busy with a slightly more pressing matter. Though, once that is dealt with, we can figure out what Bart is doing here.
