Dark times seem to have fallen once more in these hallowed halls, eh? We’ve been packing up our equipment as fast as we possibly can, but day after day, night after long dark night, this church is slowly slipping into Hell itself. Just this morning, I ran into a lesser Demon running about drawing blood sigils on the pews. As young No. 2312 mentioned, we have a small grace period to get out of Dodge, so to speak. Padre is occupied with reclaiming his usurped throne and reforging his Key to the Gates of Hell. We all assumed it would take him some time… but my, it seems he works fast.

At least, to my knowledge, these pests are of no concern to us. While Padre is rather cross that we sealed him away for roughly 350 demon years, we also let him back out. Not to mention the Long Beach team is a rather fearsome crew, and I’m sure Padre would rather deal with us when he is back to his full strength, which might take a few months to a year or so. No reason to pick a fight with us now. Not yet anyway.

Now I did, of course, steal a peek at the sigils these lesser demons are painting. Nothing out of the ordinary, I suppose. From what I could tell, they are basic wards and deconsecrations. Fairly similar to what Padre had in the church back in the 90s. However, the implication here is clear… Padre will be returning to Long Beach once again, and the church’s doors will once again be open. Would Padre be so foolish to attempt the same plot twice? Perhaps. Things are certainly different than they were the last time he tried. Though I doubt things are more in his favor. So, to what end Padre is after, I am uncertain. I suppose we will have to wait and see, if we have the chance, that is.
