If it wasn’t entirely clear, I don’t mind saying it upfront: the plan is to remove No. 4’s arm. Gruesome, I know. But it’s what needs to happen, at least I certainly think so for what it’s worth. No. 4 might not be much of a talker, but I’ve literally known him my whole life. I can tell how much his arm is hurting, and I don’t think this pain will ever go away. While it will be a drastic change, it’s a necessary one.

We have the Pathologist, Brent Hearse, coming by to take a look at it before we make any drastic decisions. It’s worth pointing out that I believe Brent dropped out of med school, so he’s not technically a Flipside pathologist, or doctor, for that matter. But from what I’ve heard, he studied in the Otherside for a few years to hone his skills in… questionable demonic medicine. I’d argue he’s closer to a mortician or taxidermist, but the nickname “Pathologist” has stuck. He might also be better known as Manager 134 from the Third Cafe.

He should be here next Monday, so we’ll know more then. The part that hasn’t really been said out loud yet, at least to my knowledge, is what exactly the Pathologist wants to do. Cut off No. 4’s arm, yes, but he also mentioned the possibility of a graft. Giving No. 4 a new arm from a donor. Again, I can’t stress enough that the Pathologist is not a legitimate Flipside doctor. So, you could imagine that the donor arm would not be entirely human… if human at all. But we’d need to find a demon who doesn’t mind giving up an arm for any of that to work. And I just don’t think any of us have connections like that.</span>
