Yikes. Yep, that’s Lucifer, with a whole bunch of witches, demons, and humans gathering on the Flipside to do… something. Definitely cult vibes. Hibiscus came up with “Flurrdo’s Frozen Treats” as the code name, and I think it works—way better than Mina M. Mossm’s Marvelous… what was it again? Damn—can’t even check the old receipts. Was it Mina M. Mossm’s Marvelous Made-to-Order Miscellaneous Munchies? Why were we so extra with the alliteration on that one? We ended up just calling it “Mina’s Fast-Food” anyway. And, of course, Mina—Mammon—is just a hop, skip, and jump away from Lucifer. Could be that his cult is closely linked to the one we just shut down.

Lucifer, as you know, sits at the head of the Upside’s Authority, ruling over Morningstar. Not that we know much about the Morningstar—or Lucifer, for that matter. He’s easily the most reclusive of the Princes of Hell, even more so than Belphegor or Astaroth. This was the first time I’d ever seen his glamored form, and… it’s something, alright. Guy could’ve been a killer glam rocker back in the ‘80s. He’s not subtle at all, which just shows how little he understands humans. Now, his sister, Mammon, heads up the Upside’s Commonwealth, which—considering we just busted her cult—suggests that the Upside is definitely still up to something. Which all points back to the true head of the Upside, at the Core: Lady Eve of Eden.

But that’s probably getting ahead of ourselves. We don’t need to go messing around with any of the Cores in the Otherside. Even taking on an Authority is a pretty big leap. If we want to handle Lucifer’s cult in Sacramento, that is. He’s big enough that the Decodex Department should be handling him. Should. Of course, we all know how reliable they are—never count on the Department for much of anything, right?

So, Sunshine—feel like taking on Pride himself?
