Who… or what is "the Dark?" It's not the first time Umbra's mentioned it. Big Guy first heard him say it when the Third Cafe stopped his plans a month ago. Umbra said something like, "prepare to welcome the Dark." Though, Big Guy wasn't sure if he was saying it to him, to the girl, to the Third Cafe's 8, Levithan, or… I don't know who else Umbra could've been talking to. Though going off of yesterday's little chat, it doesn't seem like he was saying it to Big Guy, y'know? Umbra seemed… surprised that we were here. Worse, Umbra seems to know about us—know about our destiny. That can't be good, can it?

If he was saying it to the girl, he was controlling with the Everebon Locket; it could've just been a rude send-off as she was kicked into the Black Tide. But I'm not sure Umbra would refer to the Black Tide as "the Dark." If he was saying it to the Third Cafe's 8… I can't help but feel like the message was… missed. Based on what Big Guy could tell, the Third Cafe had no idea Umbra was the one behind, well, everything. He could've been saying it to Leviathan as a "hey you're about to die" kinda thing, but Big Guy recalls him saying it AFTER Umbra's plans were thwarted. So… who was he saying it to, and more importantly, why?

Hm… well… to welcome is to, like, greet, yeah? To introduce, to invite… not only that, but Umbra has referred to himself as the Dark before. Maybe he was talking to himself? He could be welcoming in like a change to his own self? Hey! Maybe this means Umbra is turning over a new leaf? Like he said to Payroll, he was actually thankful that she helped the Third Cafe stop his whole Black Tide plan. After all of that chaos maybe, just maybe, he realized that he's been going down a dark path and that he needs to change his ways! Maybe that's why he destroyed the Everebon Locket for us!

…I can hope, right?
