I’ve been thinking—we might have a way to “fix” the boundary lines. So far, Cherry and Hazelnut have been doing their best to “staple” the tears shut, but it’s not working. The gaps are way too big, and there are far too many of them. Honestly, we’d need a hundred, maybe even a thousand, Cherries and Hazelnuts working all at once to get things back to normal. And the truth is… I don’t think things <i>can</i> go back to normal.

Sure, if the Decodex Department and the New Dawn Coven worked together, maybe it’d be possible. But has anyone seen either of them lifting a finger to deal with the broken boundaries?

I haven’t.

It feels like we’re the only ones taking this problem seriously. Maybe that’s exactly what the Coven wants—to see the Flipside, Topside, and Otherside meld into one. That would explain why Le Fay, Starling, and Beizl haven’t done anything to help. For all we know, they might even be trying to make things worse. And Redwood? You’d think the Department would be all over fixing this mess, keeping the Otherside and Flipside separate. Unless… maybe he’s already decided it’s too far gone to bother.

But! That’s where my idea comes in. Have you heard of kintsugi? It’s a Japanese art where broken pottery is repaired with golden lacquer. The cracks don’t get hidden; they become part of the whole. I was reading about it the other day, and it got me thinking—could we do something like that on a boundary line scale? Instead of trying to seal the tears shut, what if Cherry and Hazelnut could <i>fill</i> them? It wouldn’t restore the old boundaries, but it might stabilize things enough to keep them under control.</span>
