I was paid a courtesy visit last night by Miss. Fitch, of Padre’s new Open Doors Church. She wanted to “apologize” for Janos’ brash behavior a few days ago. She’s obviously up to something and her endless gaudy perfume can’t disguise it. I also managed to get a quick glance at her face underneath her hat, and it’s not as bad as legend says. It’s somehow much, much worse. Anyway, according to Fitch, the Cafe and the Church don’t have to be enemies, we could be friends. Oh, I assure you, we are already friends. BFFs from where I’m standing.

Fitch extended an invitation for No. 2, No. 71, No. 2312, me, and any member of the Cafe and Diner to join tomorrow’s service. Any service moving forward for that matter. Though I would strongly caution against coming all the way to Long Beach to put yourself is room with Satan and three of his deadliest demon cohorts. Apparently tomorrow will be a “big day” for the church, and Padre wants to share in his glorious vision with as many people as possible, Cafe included. Hell, encouraged by the sound of it.

It's a trap. Obviously. Or it’s not a trap but a show of his hand. Satan wants us to see or hear what he has to say, and he wants it to be clear. But it’s more likely some sort of trap. Still, Alfa had us come down to Long Beach specifically to investigate “Padre Santos” and I assume she wouldn’t want us to turn up our noses at an offer like this. Plus, I should be able to get a better look at his flock’s corruption up close. Things might go very ’72 on us tomorrow, but, hey, that’s the business. Though to minimize our potential loses, only myself and No. 2312 will be attending tomorrow’s service. And No. 2312 will be attending in a disguise at that. There’s a good chance Satan will see right through it, but No. 2312 has assured me that his disguises are top notch. Wish us luck.
