It’s perhaps slightly humorous—if not an outright coy play by Fate, is it not? That you and I, Payroll, would find ourselves once again serving a cup of Cafe and Diner coffee to the doorstep of a Death’s Door club. I remember once our Cafe began to spiral and burn out, I swore to myself I would never set foot in another nightclub so long as I was alive. I suppose, in a way, that me died in 2005. Still—nightclubs are hardly my “scene.” Well, I suppose I haven’t given these clubs a fair shake yet. From what I’ve heard, each supernatural region has its own… to borrow from H.R.’s vocabulary, “vibe.”

Of course, we spent most of our time in the Hotspot’s clubs. Hot, loud, crowded, with all the glitz and glamor the gilded coast can provide. Typical Otherside architecture… almost as if they were tiny pockets of the Necropolis itself. From what I’ve heard, the Hotbed is more… “old money.” Blooded types tend to mingle there. Dark wood paneling, heavy velvet drapes, and plenty of antique furniture. Whispered conversations held over the clinking of glasses filled with only the most exotic and rare spirits. Personally, I feel I would prefer spending my time up north, if given the chance.

Which leaves us with the Hotspring clubs, which the Manager and H.R. are already somewhat familiar with. Eclectic, vibrant, and… strange. Avant-garde coastal architecture filled with the usual pleasantries of the Hotspring... cabanas, cocktails, and a carefree island spirit. Still preferable to the bedlam of L.A. but not quite as enticing as the quieter West Virginia clubs, at least, in my opinion. Though, on a more serious note, you are not allowed to join us for this late-night endeavor, Payroll. Not if Aka is involved. Is that clear? He still has too much control over you. And I fear, perhaps, he always will.
