That… changes things. It really does. I… okay. Maybe it’s not as bad as I initially thought, but still… I can’t ignore what this means for me, for my position within Ottawa, within the Otherside. I can’t say I understand all of the “why” or even most of the “how,” but… it’s probably better if I don’t know the specifics. That could lead to complications down the line. But given what I do know… I don’t think I have much of a choice.

I’ll need to call my siblings. Convene with them. And with him. I’m not exactly obligated to tell them the whole truth—and I doubt he would either—but… maybe my eldest sister, S… something. She always picks an “S” name. Sabrina…? Or… Scarlett…? Sofia…? No—Sara! It was Sara the last time I saw her. Anyway, Sara might be willing to say more than my brother, Manemo, ever would. Speaking of which, we’ll probably need a new name for him too. It’s a bit tiresome how often he switches things up just to suit his current pursuits.

Anyway… I have to discuss what I know with them. Or at least the general idea of it. I’ll keep your name out of it, mon amour, but I can’t promise Sara or Manemo will do the same. It’s a risk, but it’s also a chance to see how they react when I bring them the news. I mean, I can’t keep this from everyone. If it ever comes out that I knew about this and didn’t tell them… even though we’re not all that close, it would drive a serious wedge between me and the rest of them. Of course, I can’t necessarily save Sara and Manemo either. I suppose I’ll see just how far they’re willing to go to keep things running… down below, and up above.</span>
