Happy New Year, patrons, tourists, and, yes, friends alike. My mentor was always fond of the New Year. He felt it was an excellent chance for rebirth, renovation, and realignment of goals. He also had a thing for alliterations, as I’m sure most of you know. Speaking of rebirth, renovation, and realignment, though, we have successfully accomplished those three tasks already. Though I doubt this was what he planned for the Cafe and Diner. Usually, I’d love to do a recap of the year we’ve had, but considering January-September is considered “classified,” what good would that really do? I can, of course, recap the last four months of which No. 161 has dubbed: “Devil Will Drag Us Under.” Morbid, No. 161. Very morbid. 

In the latter half of September, we reopened the Cafe and Diner to patrons. A bold move, but ultimately a helpful one, I’d say. We also dealt with the chilling and unexpected team-up of Mrs/Miss. Pierott, Miss. Crawford, and Mr. Bartlett. Worth noting that two-thirds of that escapade was planned by our new associates, the Astoria 23rd Agency. As for Mr. Bartlett, well, he would give us quite the run around in the months to come.

In October, Miss. Cece came knocking, and there was Hell, somewhat literally, to pay. The Florida Branch dealt with returning customer Mrs. Florida and their new friends. In the process, the Florida Branch, No. 5 specifically, dug up something though what it is, I don’t even know. Around this time, Mr. Bartlett also took advantage of the full moon to enhance his order and cause quite the scene with Mrs. Hanako. 

In November, we had to move out of our old location in Long Beach and relocate to Astoria with the help of the 23rd Agency. Mind you, the other two branches were largely unaffected by this merger. Though some of our choices in October caused a rather large outcry which seems to have dragged us into a legal battle of sorts. Oh, and doors opened in more ways than one. We also “dealt” with Mr. Bartlett’s eccentric order, though I can only imagine he’ll be back for seconds. 

This brings me to December where we began our work for the Agency. We focused on infiltrating Padre Santos’ new congregation with the help of the Florida Branch. The Long Island branch sought to bring some holiday cheer to those in need. And, well, we learned something very interesting about our very own Manager No. 7 and… my mentor. It has been a lot to process for everyone, especially for No. 7. I can’t even begin to imagine how she feels. And I am positive this goes for everyone when I say we are all here for you. 

In any case, onto different things. Better? Not likely. But different. Our branch is currently tied up with the whole Open Doors affair. I’m guessing that Palm Beach is busy with its basement full of secrets. And Long Island… is probably healing… and working on Archives and misc cases per usual. </span>
